Ibrahim Maalouf - The Trumpets of Michel-Ange Concert
Age Limit: The event is suitable for participants aged 7 and above.
World-famous Lebanese-born French trumpeter Ibrahim Maalouf will be at Izmir Bornova Aşık Veysel Open Air Theater on May 16, 2025 with his original and colorful musical project T.O.M.A!
One of the leading names of the trumpet in the world and in the French music scene, Lebanese-born French musician Ibrahim Maalouf is back with a highly innovative musical project after 17 albums and a prestigious GRAMMY nomination. T.O.M.A, which stands for "Trumpets of Michel Ange", is a great adventure that takes us to a world where folklore and modernity come together in philosophical, historical and musical terms. As always, Ibrahim's music strikes a perfect balance between sophistication and accessibility, both challenging and inviting for different listeners.
‘’T.O.M.A’’ is also the name of the trumpet brand that Ibrahim created in collaboration with French manufacturers. The artist, who plays the four-valve trumpet that allows quarter tones to be played instead of the traditional three-valve trumpet invented by his father Nassim Maalouf more than half a century ago, also teaches this unique instrument to young musicians.
Maalouf, who has created successful works as a composer and arranger with his sound that moves between jazz, rap, world and Middle Eastern music genres and his unique style that he has created throughout his career, will meet his fans once again in the ‘T.O.M.A’ concert that brings together generations and different cultures and is almost a celebration.
