Artistic Director – Nina Ananiashvili
The artistic direction and choreography of The Nutcracker is undertaken by world-renowned prima ballerina Nina Ananiashvili, former principal dancer of the Bolshoi Ballet and the American Ballet Theatre. Since 2004, Ananiashvili has led the Georgian State Ballet, bringing a visionary touch that has shaped its international acclaim. Recognized by the Daily Telegraph as one of the “12 greatest ballerinas of all time”, she has not only captivated audiences on stage but also made a lasting contribution to the world of dance. Her performance in Giselle was praised by New York Magazine as “the most compelling performance,” and in 2002, she was named “Best Ballerina of the Year” by US Dance Magazine.
