Gazel is a composer, songwriter and producer living in London. Her music is a dark blend of pop, electronic and middle-eastern folk music.
Her debut EP, Bone Key, was nominated in two categories including Best Pop EP in the 2016 Indepedent Music Awards.
Gazel is a haunting live performer, singing in both English and Turkish. Together with her band, they layer classic songwriting with live electronics, strings, and native percussion with a backdrop of live projections and animations by illustrator Acid Lake.
Recent shows include The Lexington, Rich Mix, and the Hammersmith Apollo, opening for Goran Bregovic.
